Miranda White loves her job as a baker at River’s End Ranch. She’s been there a year, and the only fly in the ointment is Bob, the chef for Kelsey’s Kafé, who picks a fight with her every single morning. December on the ranch doesn’t only bring skiers and snowmobilers, it also brings cookies. And at River’s End, cookies mean Miranda.
Bob Blakely is clueless about women, and he knows it. Teasing Miranda every morning about the amount of chocolate chips in her cookies seems to be the best way to get her attention. When Kelsi Clapper invites them both to dinner one night, Bob sees his chance to let her know how he feels. Will Miranda be able to see past his tormenting? Or will she choose to spend another Christmas alone?

Title: Baker’s Bob
Series: River’s End Ranch #16
Author: Kirsten Osbourne
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: April 8, 2017
My Rating: 4.5 stars
There is never a wrong time of the year for Christmas Romance – especially in the River’s End Ranch series where we’re following the seasons as set out in the books. and now it’s Christmas time in Riston, Idaho. And we’re in for a few treats with some lovely Christmas romances to enjoy. First up is Baker’s Bob.
Some people simply march to their own unique drums, and Bob from Kelsey’s Kafe is certainly one of those people. He’s been doing his version of flirting with Miranda since they met about a year ago. Except Bob’s version of flirting really belongs back on the elementary school play yard as he’s constantly mock fighting with her about the number of chocolate chips in her cookies. It’s driving Miranda up the wall because she believes he’s totally serious. When Bob does come clean and explains why he’s teasing her mercilessly she’s flabbergasted to say the least. Yet it does set up a sorta truce and the beginning of their own unique dating plan.
Their romance is fun, a bit different and the first time Jaclyn actually kicked someone out of her house when she declares that Miranda simply isn’t ready yet to hear what the faeries have to say. The frantic pace of a resort getting ready for the Christmas rush and activities is clearly shown. Along with a personal Secret Santa for Miranda. And who is Matt? And he’s on a sabbatical from what? Looks like we have a mystery for another story down the line.
I had fun with Baker’s Bob. A touch of Christmas, a bit of whimsy and two special, totally unique people to watch over as they fall in love. I enjoyed myself and I believe you will, too. I’d recommend this story and the entire series to any Romance reader. It’s difficult to not get hooked on the fun, romance and people who make up the River’s End Ranch.
